Rent Reviews and Lease Renewals

We have years of experience in negotiating rent reviews and lease renewals on all types of retail property ranging from high street shops and restaurants to shopping centre units, supermarkets and large stores.

We provide specialist advice to owners and occupiers based on up to date market intelligence to achieve the best possible lease terms and rents. 

Lease Re-gears

Opportunities to restructure leases have never been greater. Changing market and economic conditions have resulted in retailers and occupiers in general looking to re-base rents whereas landlords wish to minimise void risk while protecting investment returns. All of this has resulted in substantial growth in our lease restructuring activity.

Arbitration

We have considerable knowledge and expertise in acting as Expert Witness in referrals to Arbitration, Independent Expert, PACT and Court Proceedings. 


Our approach combines comprehensive research with specialist market knowledge and analysis to drive the process and achieve the best possible results.

Jeremy Elphick BSc MRICS

Jeremy has specialised in retail property for more than 30 years having started his career at Hillier Parker (now CBRE) followed by 16 years with retail specialist Blair Kirkman (now Savills) and latterly 14 years as head of Retail Lease Advisory at Knight Frank.

Clients have included numerous national multiple retailers ranging from Robert Dyas, Metro Bank, Clintons, Monsoon Accessorize, Specsavers and Superdrug through to luxury brands such as Harvie & Hudson, Holland & Holland, Smythson of Bond Street and Partridges of Sloane Square.

​

Jeremy has represented the landlords of various shopping centres across the UK including Aviva Investors, The Crown Estate, Mall Corporation and Threadneedle. Other landlord clients have included property companies and private investors particularly within Central London where Jeremy has substantial experience of the major retail and leisure destinations acting for clients including The Pollen Estate, Maudsley Charity and CBRE Global Investors.
